Yeah, you read the title right. I beleive that the "mainstream" porn industry is ruining sex for all of humanity and it makes me sad.
Now, few things to start:
1) I am still a fan of porn, there is lots of really great porn out there, profesional and amatuer.
2) I am by NO means saying that they need to stop making porn.
3) Promise I do have good reasons for saying this.
So, why do I think that porn is ruining sex? It's because of just how readily available porn is to the entire world, and how I'd say about 80% of the professional porn made is completely ubsurd and sets horrible expectations.
You know what the number one type of porn right now is? Stepbro.... yep, you knew it was soon as I said it. That's the number one type of porn out there and it's seeping out of the porn sites and into all forms of social media. The pandemic had everyone so absolutly couped up and celebate, that people starting looking at step family wondering if maybe they could get lucky with them. So they started looking up porn that's just one step away from incest, step family porn. It's been around for a while, but it wasn't till the pandemic that it really got out of hand. Now you can find it both with professional adult stars, amatuer stars, chaterbate pages, Tiktok accounts, and all kinds of memes. Now you got these young teens and tweens, with parents who give them unfiltered access to the internet, finding these memes and thinking that one day they are going to come home and get railed by their hot step sibling or parent, or maybe both.
Then you have rape based porn, which when shown without any conversation about consent and safe words, just pushes these bullshit alpha male types and incels into thinking that most women love it when you force them into fucking you. There's not discussion in the videos of what consent is, and how the video is all made up and the stars gave full consent to be there (most the time) and have safe words in place (most the time) and so on. So they get it in their head that women love to be choke slammed and forced to do things, and that when they keep saying no, if their pussy is wet, then they really mean yes. It's absolutly toxic bullshit that needs to be handled WAY differently.
Or how about these College Dorm porn videos of all these college kids having giant orgies at every party, and where everyone at the party is super hot and just ready to get ALL the fucking they can get? They don't tell you that pretty much all these videos are staged. That usually the people fucking on screen are already porn stars and the people watching are the actual college students who were let in to watch but told not to touch.
Or let's go to bangbus, and BangTaxi, and all that, where they are told that they are picking up random people, paying them to fuck on camera, and then just dropping them off some where random and abandoning them. All of it is fake, all of it is made up, all of it is bullshit.
Don't even get me started on how they only show men with giant cocks, and women who are ready to get fucked in every hole at the drop of a dime with no lube or much foreplay.
The point I am trying to make is that the porn industry is taking all this porn they make, and just assuming that everyone who watches it knows that it's all fake and made up. They live by that assumption and base everything they do on that assumption.
Now, do I know a good way to fix this without laws getting made restricting porn more and more? No. Honestly I don't, and I don't want the government involved in anything to do with sex. The fact the paying for sex is prostitution, unless you film and it and post it to make money, then it's capitalism, is just wrong. It's based on Theocratic laws, and in my personal opinion, any law based on someones religion should be stricken from the books.
I just really think the porn industry as a whole needs to stand up and take responsibility for itself. Actually post as many videos explaining the dangers of some of the sex they are showing, and how much consent is important, and how the people you are seeing in these videos aren't your average size/shape.
